Entspannt durch den Norden / Relaxed through the north (11. Tag / Day 11)

Heute hatte ich eine Entscheidung zu fällen. Fahre ich nochmal 60 km (hin und zurück) Schotterpiste zum Felsen Hvítserkur, der so schön im Meer steht, oder nutze ich die Zeit lieber für einen Schwimmbadbesuch. Schotterstrecken hat das Motorrad jetzt eigentlich genug erleiden müssen und die Reichweite beim gegenwärtigen Wind ist auch fraglich.
So ließ ich mir im Hostel Hvammstangi dann auch viel Zeit bis zum Aufbruch und machte noch die englische Blog-Version von Tag 10 fertig (dort gibt es jetzt auch noch einen Nachtrag zum Dynjandifoss). 10:20 Uhr ging es los und nur 188 km sollten es heute werden. Dazu hätte eigentlich ein Ladestopp ausgereicht, aber es gab unterwegs drei Orkusalan-Stationen, die ich alle nutzen wollte.

Bis Blönduós waren es nur 65 km, aber ich hatte starken Gegenwind und wollte auf der Ringstraße nicht allzu langsam fahren. Ich hatte stellenweise einen Rekordverbrauch von deutlich über 90 Wh/km. Ich hab dann auch mal extra noch beschleunigt, um zu sehen, ob die Anzeige auch dreistellig werden kann. Tatsächlich kam ich auch über 100 Wh/km! So kam ich mit nur 26 % im Akku nach den 65 km Fahrt an. Jetzt lohnte sich das (kostenlose) Laden. Das gesparte Geld, dass ich bei der ON-Station hätte zahlen müssen, investierte ich in einen Besuch den Schwimmbads. 1000 isl. Kronen (8,10 €) Eintritt war allerdings auch ein Rekord auf dieser Reise.

Die 2. Station bei Húnaver war im letzten Eintrag bei plugshare.com vom Mai 2018 als defekt gemeldet. Deswegen habe ich auch die angefahren. Sie funktionierte.
Den 3. Stopp in Sauðárkrókur nutzte ich, um ein bisschen durch den Ort zu spazieren. Hier gab es eine Ladestation direkt am Rathaus. Der dazu gehörige Parkplatz war ausgerechnet von einem Fahrzeug der Gemeinde zugeparkt (immerhin ein E-Golf). Meine Reaktion sieht man in den Bildern. Ebenfalls in den Bildern zu sehen ist, dass das Wetter ganz ok war, was ich sonst noch erlebte im Café in Glaumbær, die Spritpreise in Island und was es heute Abend im Gästehaus in Hofsós (ich übernachte etwas nördlcher als geplant) zu essen gab.

1. Ladestopp in Blönduós, wie häufig am Schwimm/Sportkomplex angebracht.

Hier sieht man, wie geschickt die Ladestation in Blönduós liegt. Zweimal ums Eck laufen und schon kann der E-Mobilist sich im Hotpot entspannen.

Regen nur etwas zu Beginn der Fahrt ansonsten genug Gelegenheit die Landschaft zu genießen, trotz Gegenwind.

Torfgehöft und Museum Glaumbær. Hier war ich schon öfter zur Besichtigung, deshalb sollte ein Kaffee im Café reichen.

Ich war der einzige Gast im Café und das zur besten Nachmittagszeit! Dabei hatten sie so viele Tische da und es war schön dekoriert. Immer wieder kamen Leute kurz rein: „I just want to look“, „I have no time“. Gut dass ich dank Verzicht auf den „Hvítserkur“ genug Zeit hatte.

Auch Zeit dem Treiben draußen zuzusehen.

Wie hätte hier ein Auto laden sollen? Da fehlt noch die Farbfläche auf dem Platz.

Der Ladesäulenblockierer bekam einen Flyer von mir mit „You are blocking the charge station“ aber mit Smilie.

Von der Ladestation in Sauðárkrókur konnte ich die Spritpreise sehen und habe die hier mal umgerechnet (Benzin und Diesel).

Guesthouse Hofsós. Von innen viel schöner als es das Bild erwarten lässt. Mein Zimmerfenster hat nicht nur Meerblick (siehe letztes Bild), sondern auch eine Möglichkeit das Ladekabel nach außen zu führen.

Die Unterkunft in Hofsós bekommt erst dieses Jahr die Erlaubnis auch einen Herd zum Kochen für die Gäste aufzustellen. So musste ich mit der Mikrowelle improvisieren. „Gekocht“ wird abschnittsweise in Schüsseln. Wir sehen hier: Maggi Nudeln Teriyaki mit Mais und Sardellen vor dem Mischen jeweils in 2 Teile portioniert. Im Oktober 2017 hatten wir sowas für 2 Personen gemacht, da ist der Abend schnell rum.

Mit dieser Abendstimmung und dem Blick von meiner Unterkunft beende ich den heutigen Bericht.

Today I had a decision to make. Shall I drive again 60 km (there and back) gravel road to the rock Hvítserkur, which is so beautiful in the sea, or I use the time rather for a swimming pool visit. The motorcycle has now actually suffered enough from gravel roads and the range in the current wind might be also critical.
So I spent more time in the hostel Hvammstangi until departure and made the English blog version of Day 10 finished (there is now also an addendum to Dynjandifoss). At 10:20 a.m. I started and only 188 km drive it should be today. One charge stop in between would have been enough, but there were three Orkusalan stations on the way, which I wanted test all.

It was only 65 km to Blönduós, but I had a strong headwind and did not want to drive too slowly on the ring road. After a while I saw a record consumption of well over 90 Wh/km in the display. I then also speeded up even more to see if the display is capable to show also show three digits. In fact, I also came over 100 Wh/km! So after the 65 km I came with only 26 % in the battery (SoC) to Blönduós. Now the (free) charge stop was worthwhile. The money I would have had to pay at the ON station I invested in visiting the swimming pool. But 1000 islandic crowns (€ 8.10) entrance fee was also a record on this trip.

In the last entry at plugshare.com my 2nd station at Húnaver was reported as defective from May 2018 . That’s why I stopped there too. The station worked.
The third charge stop in Sauðárkrókur I used to walk a bit through the place. There was a charging station right at the town hall. The associated parking lot was blocked by a vehicle of the community (after all, an E-Golf…). My reaction can be seen in the pictures. Also in the pictures you can see that the weather was ok, what else I experienced in the Café in Glaumbær, the fuel prices in Iceland and what to eat this evening in the guesthouse in Hofsós (I stay a little bit northeastern than planned).

Rain only a little at the beginning of the ride otherwise enough opportunity to enjoy the landscape, despite the headwind.

I was the only guest in the cafe at the best time in the afternoon! They had so many tables and it was nicely decorated. Again and again people came in briefly: „I just want to look“, „I have no time“. Good that I had enough time, thanks to the abandonment of the „Hvítserkur“.

From the charging station in Sauðárkrókur I could see the fuel prices and have converted it to Euros here (gasoline and diesel).

Guesthouse Hofsós. From inside much nicer than from the picture to expect. My room window has not only sea view (see last picture), but also a way to lead the charging cable to the outside.

The accommodation in Hofsós will be given permission this year to install a cooker for the guests. So this time I had again to improvise with the microwave. „Cooked“ is in sections in bowls. We see here: Maggi Pasta Teriyaki with corn and anchovies, each portioned into 2 parts before mixing. Then heated alternately in the microwave.

With this evening atmosphere and the view from my accommodation, I finish today’s report.
