ON_AppIch habe im Bereich Tourplanung einen Artikel über die Lademöglichkeiten und Kosten in Island geschrieben. Schwerpunkt sind dabei die Ladesäulen von „ON“ und „Orkusalan“.

Island hat erneuerbare Energie aus Erdwärme und vor allem Wasserkraft. (Wobei man sich hier fragen kann, was da erneuerbar ist, wenn die Gletscher immer mehr schmelzen).
Strom ist eigentlich billig in Island, Preisvergleich für Privathaushalte:
– Deutschland: 25-30 Euro-Cent (30-37 ISK) pro kWh
– Island: ca. 6,5 Euro-Cent (8 ISK) pro kWh, also nur ein Viertel davon.

 

ON_Ladesaeule2Wenn es aber um’s Laden von Elektrofahrzeugen geht, dann wird richtig zugelangt:
20 ISK (16,2 Euro-Cent) pro kWh und ein Zeittarif von 17,1 ISK (14 Euro-Cent) pro Minute!
Das würde bei mir mit einer Ladedauer von 1,25 h zu Kosten von 12,30 EUR (1510 ISK) für eine Vollladung führen, die mich (nur) 130-140 km weit bringt. Die kleinen Ladestationen von ON sollen aber noch kostenfrei sein. Mir geht es nicht darum kostenlos unterwegs zu sein, aber die Preise sollten verhältnismäßig sein. I wrote an article about the charging options and costs in Iceland in „Planning the trip“. Focus is on the charging stations of „ON“ and „Orkusalan“.

Iceland has renewable energy from geothermal energy and especially hydropower. (Here you can ask what here is renewable, as the glaciers melt more and more).
Electricity is actual cheap in Iceland, price comparison for private households:
– Germany: 25-30 Euro cents (30-37 ISK) per kWh
– Iceland: about 6.5 euro cents (8 ISK) per kWh, so only a quarter of it.

 

ON_Ladesaeule2But when it comes to charging electric vehicles, then it is properly cashed: 20 ISK (16.2 Euro cents) per kWh plus a rate for the charge time of 17.1 ISK (14 Euro cents) per minute!
For me, with a a charge time of 1.25h, that would lead to costs of 12,30 EUR (1510 ISK) for a full charge, which takes me (only) 130-140 km far.
But the small charging stations of ON should still be free of charge. I do not care about traveling for free, but the prices should be fair. You can read a comparison in ► my article.
